Bloom! City of Bloomington Park System Master Plan

Bloomington is Minnesota’s fifth-largest city and is served by an extensive parks and recreation system, with 87 percent of residents living within a 10-minute walk of a park or green space. While more than 80 percent of residents identify parks as essential to their quality of life, disparities in park quality and amenities limit the system’s ability to serve a diversifying and aging population. Led by a team of Landscape Architects, Project BLOOM is a comprehensive two-year effort that resulted in a forward-looking park system master plan, guiding equitable, resilient, and community-driven park investments over the next 20 years.
