"The Earth is a fine place and worth fighting for."
- Ernest Hemingway
ASLA-MN’s Climate Action Committee has created a Minnesota-specific Climate Action and Biodiversity Plan to support local design professionals in setting climate-specific goals for their work. This guide serves as a supplement to ASLA’s Climate Action Plan and is tailored to our local conditions and challenges.
This user-friendly plan provides 40 actionable steps that can be completed by individual landscape architects or by firms. The document is 10 pages of practical information about how to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, protect biodiversity, and integrate climate resilience into design and practice.
ASLA-MN is the first ASLA Chapter to produce its own climate action document tailored to regional needs. ASLA has reviewed the Plan and provided suggestions based on their expertise. We hope you will find this resource concise and easy to use, and incorporate its content into your everyday design decisions.
