2026 Education Symposium
The 2026 ASLA-MN Education Symposium will take place on Friday, June 5 at the American Swedish Institute (2600 Park Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55407) from 8:30am-4:00pm. The program will offer 6 Professional Development Hours (PDHs), including 1 Ethics PDH.

The ASLA Minnesota Education Symposium Planning Committee is offering ASLA members and other professionals the opportunity to submit a written proposal for an oral presentation with graphics for the annual ASLA-MN Education Symposium. Presenters are encouraged to provide an engaging and dynamic session, either as a panel (comprising no more than three speakers and one moderator) or as an individual. Proposals will be selected for continuing education session presentations with the goal of educating fellow professionals on topics such as, but not limited to:
Design for sacred spaces
Design process – analog and digital conceptualization through construction
Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion practices in design
Climate action and resiliency
Contribution of outdoor environments to physical activity, stress reduction, and health
Health, safety, and welfare
Ethics
Any topic that you may feel is inspiring or relevant to the profession
Each session is to be 1 hour in duration: 45-50 minute presentation with 10-15 minutes Q&A.

1. Presentation Title: (10 word max)
2. Presenter(s) Name, affiliation, and Bio (100-word max each)
3. Presentation brief:
a. Describe the topic of your presentation (100-word max)
b. Three key learning objectives
c. If presentation is to be interactive, describe how you will do so
(100-word max)

The Education Symposium is held annually and aims to provide professionals across the state with the opportunity to gather, interact, and learn about current topics in the fields of planning and landscape architecture. The Symposium provides a forum for the exchange of information and research between private, public, and academic practitioners.
