African American Cultural Heritage District (AACHD) Zine

The African American Cultural Heritage District (AACHD) Zine complemented traditional engagement materials and provided a unique medium for project outreach. Developed to support engagement for the District’s Strategic Plan, this tool presented project vision and goal statements, offered reflection prompts that invited community members to share their vision for the district’s future, and brought project information to life through colorful artwork by a local Black artist. Distributed at pop-up events and local businesses, the zine met people where they were–making community planning more accessible, celebrating the district’s cultural identity, and ensuring community voice remained central to shaping its own future.
